San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts Grand Re-Opening Set

Under the museums “beautiful new copper roof,” events, world-class exhibitions, and reimagined programming will take place. 

The free grand re-opening reception will be from  5:30 to 8 p.m. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to be the first to experience two new exhibits: "N.C. Wyeth and the Golden Age of American Illustration" and "Microscape: A Studio Art Quilt Associates Global Exhibition." 

Live music and refreshments will complement the evening's festivities.

The first quarter of the new year promises an array of” Love to Learn” classes featuring local instructors, showcasing diverse artistic skills. 

Classes include "The Art of Block Printing with Becky Strout" on January 4, "The Art of Cooking with Chef Nicole Rousselot McDuffie" on February 9, and "The Art of Ceramic Vases with Michelle Cuevas" on March 16 and 23.

A highlight of the Grand Re-Opening is the Five by Seven Art Show and Sale on February 9 from 5 to 9 p.m. Local and special-guest artists will present exquisite 5” x 7” works of art for sale in the museum’s Meeting Room.

On March 3, the San Angelo Chamber Music Series will enchant audiences with the Paradise Winds Reed Quintet: "The Sound of San Angelo and N.C. Wyeth’s Southwest in Music." 

Inspired by cultural, commercial, and developmental aspects, the concert will unfold a musical journey spanning 100 years of San Angelo’s growth and the American experience, taking place in the museum’s Meeting Room.

Tickets are required for the Five by Seven Art Show and Sale, Love to Learn classes, and the chamber music concert.
