Ribbon-Cutting Marks Grand Opening of MLK JR. Memorial Park Bathrooms

SAN ANGELO, TX - The City of San Angelo Parks & Rec department will unveil the newly constructed bathrooms at Martin Luther King JR. Memorial Park on Friday, Jan. 19.

The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting beginning at 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the park pavilion.

The park is located at 2121 MLK Dr.

The ribbon-cutting event will signify the official opening of the bathrooms, contributing to the overall improvement of MLK JR. Memorial Park.

As we reported earlier, according to the City of San Angelo's Building Permit and Inspection report for July 2023, a $247,787.89 permit was issued to build the new restrooms.

Led by the local NAACP chapter, this project has been in the works for some time. The restrooms will include men's and women's restrooms with sinks and dryers.

The restrooms were paid for mostly by private donations. However, the City of San Angelo has agreed to maintain and clean the new facility.

So do the artists have to furnish their own paint or will the city furnish it ? What is the line on how long the plumbing and wiring will last?

Now that there are proper restroom facilities at this park, it will be a much more pleasant experience to stop there to defecate—albeit, a less exciting one.

Everyone knows that cocaine is expensive. That stuff is making it to expensive private homes and not just being sold at this park or being used at one particular hotel.

It's also wrong to insinuate that San Angelo's "13%" would be responsible for any cadavers found in the restrooms and not the local Latinx community, who are far more ruthless, bold, and adept at executing their intended aims.

One of my stepsons is a long-time crack addict.  I have seen at least some of his world.  I have stood outside a halfway house in which he was housed but ejected him because he broke curfew, and then got into a screaming match with him and the administrator of this hellish place.  In the meantime, his mother sat crying in our car as I tried to heal that which could not be healed.

His issues generated several visits to our home by LEOS from varying jurisdictions.  I have made many trips to a bailbonds place very near Lew Sterrett, which is the Dallas County jail, because of him.  NOT a nice area.

In short, he is ruined.  We don't know where he is or even if he is still alive.  The point I seek to make is that is terribly easy for people to talk about "crack junkies", "drug addicts", "meth heads", "tweakers", or other terms we "normal" folks to use to describe those people who use illicit chemicals to help them deal with their problems.

In the meantime, I personally know four mothers who have lost sons because of drug issues.  The words "accidental overdose", "deliberate suicide" and the like mean little.

I politely suggest that those who have had no exposure to this kind of thing in their world give consideration to what exposure must be like.

Peace.

Ex-Pat, Don't bother with that chode. It will fall on deaf ears. People like them (cowards) use message boards like this because that it the extent of their bravery.

you aren't the only one with family members lost to hardcore drugs. my brother in law has been a meth head for decades and steals, lies, cheats, and manipulates people into getting what he wants. The people dealing these drugs are no different and don't deserve closed walls to shit in. Nor a public park to sling their drugs from. I'm not some "chode" like mr halitosis ^^ speaks of but someone speaking from experience in the way drug dealers and users get their deeds done... don't believe me just post up near said park for a day you'll witness at least a dozen transactions. hell even I bought bootleg beer there past hours. Business is busy at mlk park.

Since you mentioned crackheads, it seems Dumspter Fire Trump falls in line with this mentality.  I have long viewed him to be an utter fool, and the link below simply serves to further demonstrate that.

He is clearly narcissitic, sociopathic, self-serving, incredibly ignorant, and while I choose not to describe those in his cult as stupid I simply must consider them to be incredibly ignorant and blind to the danger he represents to the country.

The Evangelicals that support him?  Beyond hope, and devoid of any connection with the wishes of God.  Some of them say, "God created Trump."  God also created Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Il, Un, and other sources of pure evil.  The "God created Trump" mantra is utter crap unless it is meant to mean that God chose to put another source of evil into the world for His own entertainment.

I agree with you about Trump going too far in mimicking the Left to attract more voters. Even if Biden's senility is what peak presidential performance is imagined to look like by the American voter, Trump should stick to projecting the aura of wisdom and heroic sacrifice that he became known for over the years—especially through his wrestling cameos.

Regarding the divine and the fact that heaven has abandoned the West, I can only intimate to you that whoever was responsible for the 1981 movie Time Bandits was highly percipient regarding the underlying theology of the Abrahamic faiths...

If only you knew the heights of the buttons I've pressed in the heads of people with my wiseacre words. LOL...
