SAN ANGELO, TX - The City of San Angelo is preparing for a special meeting to chart the course of strategic priorities that will define the city's direction in 2024/2025.
The City of San Angelo has announced a special meeting set to take place on Friday, Jan. 26, at 8:30 a.m.
The venue for this gathering is the South Meeting Room of the McNease Convention Center, located at 501 Rio Concho Drive.
The workshop will commence with an overview, setting the stage for subsequent discussions.
The top three strategic priorities currently, according to the agenda, include infrastructure, public safety, and economic development.
Council members will engage in deliberations to potentially adjust and confirm the strategic priorities for the upcoming year.
The meeting will delve into financial aspects and council directives covering revenues such as sales tax, departmental service fees, property tax, and other revenue. Expenses will also be examined such as service levels, staffing, and operational efficiencies. Other funding sources to be looked at include rolling debt, grants, and prioritizing capital improvement plans.
The concluding part of the meeting will involve discussions and decisions related to comparable cities and other relevant benchmarks. This phase seeks to contextualize San Angelo's strategic priorities by considering similar municipalities and key comparables.
