SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo ISD recognized two educators as the district’s 2024 Teachers of the Year during the June 16 meeting of the Board of Trustees.
"These individuals have gone above and beyond to support and inspire the students of San Angelo ISD, and we're honored to celebrate them as our Teachers of the Year," said Shannon Schwartz,
Executive Director of Communications.
Lynn Springer of Santa Rita Elementary was named Elementary Teacher of the Year.
"Springer is more than a teacher," Schwartz said. "She's a light in the lives of those around her, known for her kindness, generosity and unwavering support. Springer cultivates a positive and inclusive culture among students and staff, whether she's checking in on colleagues, delivering homemade meals, or sharing thoughtful notes and gifts. She embodies compassion and connection in the classroom. Her passion for teaching shines especially in writing, where she sparks creativity and builds confidence in her students. She invests deeply in relationships, mentoring both students and fellow educators, and is often found attending her students' activities beyond the school day to show her continued support. Miss Springer's impact extends far beyond her classroom walls, leaving a legacy of encouragement, joy, and love of learning."

Jenny Sanders of Glenn Middle School was named Secondary Teacher of the Year.
"Sanders is the definition of dedication and passion," Schwartz said. "She pours her heart into creating a classroom where students feel safe, valued, and inspired to grow with creative lessons and collaborative challenges. Sanders keeps students actively engaged and constantly learning. Her approach is dynamic. Her energy is contagious, and the relief in every student is unwavering. She serves not only as a teacher but as a mentor and role model, leading with integrity, high expectations, and a healthy dose of humor. She helps students build confidence, character and resilience, investing time and care into their success, well beyond academics. Sanders believes in education is about shaping the whole child, and it's clear her students leave her classroom more prepared for life because of her influence."
