SAN ANGELO, TX - Angelo State University's College of Science and Engineering (COSE) will host its semi-annual STEM Lab Night event on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. primarily in the Hunter Strain Engineering Labs at 2225 Vanderventer Ave.
Held in conjunction with the national Engineers Week initiative, STEM Lab Night is a free community event designed to inspire students of all ages and their families to get involved in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects and activities. Participants will meet and interact with COSE students, faculty and staff as they engage in fun and interactive activities, demonstrations and experiments, including:
- Interactive AI demonstrations
- Engineering activities and demonstrations
- CO2 rockets, invisible ink
- "Chemistry in a Bag"
- "Geology Rocks!" mineral, rock and fossil exhibits
- "Math is all Fun and Games" hands-on activities
- Livestock identification activities
- "Physics Phun" physics demonstrations
- Angelo State Natural History Collections specimens
In addition to activities in the Hunter Strain Engineering Labs, there will be activity stations in the adjacent Mathematics-Computer Science Building and Vincent Building, and directional signage will be posted.
Originated in 2018, STEM Lab Night is offered once during each fall and spring semester. It has also expanded to include academic departments across campus and community partners throughout San Angelo.
