COLLEGE STATION, TX — Texas A&M wide receiver Mario Craver was named the Associated Press National Player of the Week on Monday following a career-best performance in the Aggies’ 41-40 road victory over No. 8 Notre Dame.
Craver becomes the first player in Texas A&M history to earn the weekly honor since the AP began issuing the award in 2024.
The sophomore wideout finished with seven catches for 207 yards, including an 86-yard touchdown reception. His 173 receiving yards in the first half marked the most by an Aggie in a half since Mike Evans totaled 182 against Auburn in 2013. Craver is now the eighth player in school history to record a 200-yard receiving game.
Craver also became the first Texas A&M player to record a touchdown catch of 70 or more yards in back-to-back games. He is only the second Aggie to register three consecutive 100-yard receiving performances, joining Ryan Swope, who achieved the feat in 2012.
The Birmingham, Alabama, native currently leads the nation in receiving yards with 443 and is averaging 147.7 yards per game.
Another Aggie snagged honors for his performance last weekend. Defensive Tackle Albert Regis garnered SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week after registering seven tackles, a sack, and a tackle for loss in the Aggies' victory over No. 8 Notre Dame. He helped limit the Fighting Irish to just 3.5 yards per carry and just 136 yards rushing.
Texas A&M is off this weekend but returns to action on Saturday, September 27, when A&M hosts Auburn at Kyle Field.
