Wall Tennis Claims Regional Quarterfinal Title Over Iowa Park

WALL, TX — The Wall Hawks and Lady Hawks tennis team is moving on after defeating Iowa Park in the regional quarterfinal round.

Wall dominated the competition, never dropping a match. The Hawks and Lady Hawks walked away with a 10-0 win on Monday.

Next up, Wall faces off with the No. 3-ranked Canyon Eagles. Last year, Canyon reached the state final before falling to Wimberley, 10-5.

Wall competed against all 4A schools this season. Their district includes Snyder, Monahans, Fort Stockton, Big Spring, Midland Greenwood, Lake View, Sweetwater and Pecos.

Wall has been on a tear with a district title, followed by a bi-district win over Glen Rose, 19-0, before beating Burkburnett 10-5 in the area round.

The Hawks and Lady Hawks have a tough matchup with No. 3 Canyon but should not be underestimated.

The regional semifinal with Canyon is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15, in Abilene.
