Woman Taken to Hospital After Crashing Into Parked Vehicle

SAN ANGELO, TX — An elderly woman was taken to the hospital Monday after she struck a parked vehicle.

The woman, despite bleeding from her face, initially refused medical transport, according to scanner communications.

However, she was unable to stand and walk on her own, and she eventually passed out at the scene, which prompted first responders to take her to the hospital.

The crash occurred in the 3700 block of Millbrook Drive. The parked car that was hit was pushed into a fire hydrant, though it didn’t cause a water leak.

A medical issue may have contributed to the crash, according to a traffic officer with the San Angelo Police Department.

If it is determined a medical issue didn’t cause the crash, the woman will be cited for failure to control speed, the officer stated.
