SAN ANGELO, TX — A two-vehicle crash disrupted an evening commute on Friday, sending at least two individuals to the hospital and prompting a police investigation into the cause of the crash.
The crash happened about 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Southland Boulevard and College Hills Boulevard.
According to an officer with the San Angelo Police Department, a white Chevrolet Cobalt sustained damage to its driver’s side after being T-boned by a Chevrolet Silverado while attempting a left-hand turn. The Chevrolet Silverado suffered minor damage to its front end.
The officer also stated that the driver of the Cobalt failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic, which led to the crash. San Angelo EMS promptly responded, and two individuals were transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the Silverado appeared visibly shaken but was able to drive the vehicle away from the scene. He had to climb through the window of the vehicle as the door was unable to open. A Toyota minivan was observed and had minor damage to the back end, but ended up not being involved in any way.
No citations were issued at the time, though the incident remains under investigation.
