Spanish Music Concert Coming to Angelo State

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - Angelo State University's Department of Visual and Performing Arts will host a concert of Spanish music featuring ASU music faculty and guest vocalists on Tuesday, Sept. 30, in ASU's Elta Joyce Murphey Auditorium located inside the Mayer Administration Building at 2601 W. Ave. N.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Featuring music by several classical Spanish composers, the program will celebrate the unique sounds of the Spanish repertoire. Vocal performers will include:

  • Dr. Mark Covey-Barrera - ASU music faculty
  • Dr. Jessica Posada - ASU music faculty
  • Kara Covey - Abilene Christian University music faculty
  • Liliana Guerrero - University of Texas music faculty
  • Jake Skipworth - Professional opera singer

The singers will be accompanied on piano by local pianist Grace Allen and Eun Mi Lee, ASU staff accompanist.
