Houston Harte to Close Wednesday for Flood Repairs

SAN ANGELO, TX — Houston Harte Expressway will close between Main Street and Bell Street starting Wednesday, Oct. 1, as crews repair damage caused by the July 4 floods, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

The closure will affect both directions of traffic and is expected to cause delays, particularly during morning and evening commutes. Drivers heading eastbound must exit at Main Street, while westbound drivers will need to exit at Bell Street.

TxDOT recommends using Loop 306 to U.S. 87 south of San Angelo as the official detour. Locally, most drivers are expected to use Pulliam Street between Main and Bell as a more direct route.

The City of San Angelo will post additional signage along Pulliam Street to help guide traffic around the closure.

Officials ask drivers to allow extra time for travel and use caution while repairs are underway.
