SAN ANGELO, TX - Angelo State University's Mayer Museum will host its first "Night at the Museum" program of the fall on Tuesday, Oct. 7, in the Mayer Museum at 2501 W. Ave. N.
Night at the Museum will run from 5-8 p.m. and is free and open to community members of all ages. For this installment, the museum will join with the ASU Association of Mexican American Students (AMAS) to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. Activities will include:
- 5-6 p.m. - DIY Sugar Skulls with ASU Spanish Club
- 6 p.m. - ASU Mariachi Los Pastores performance
- 6:30 p.m. - ASU Danza de Oro ballet folklorico performance
Other family-friendly and educational activities scheduled throughout the evening include:
- Ofrenda Display curated by AMAS
- Monarch Butterfly Project, STEM Projects with Tri-Beta biology honor society
- Calavera Noisemakers with Kappa Pi and Friday Night Art Club
- Experiments and Activity Table with the Society of Physics Students
- Virtual Reality Activities with the College of Science and Engineering
Subsequent ASU Night at the Museum events will be offered on Tuesdays, Nov. 4 and Dec. 2.
