LUBBOCK, TX— A Lubbock motel has closed its doors due to the amount of crime that takes place there.
The Executive Inn, 4401 Avenue Q in Lubbock, has announced it is closing due to numerous incidents recently.
According to EverythingLubbock, the hotel issued a notice that stated:
"We sincerely apologize that we have to voluntarily shut down our units. The recent overdoses, shootings, and robberies are the reason. The city wants this action immediately.
All tenants must vacate their units on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, by 11:00 a.m."
The Lubbock Police Department has had 731 police calls during a 478-day period.
Also, the LPD issued a statement regarding this situation.
"Over the course of several months, while the city has sought compliance from the owners of the location to cease ongoing criminal activity, at no time has the department, or the city, given a directive regarding the closure, nor has it moved forward with the legal abatement process.
However, if this is the management’s position, then the Lubbock Police Department is supportive of their decision and is appreciative of the discretion used regarding the effort surrounding public safety."
