Catfish Stocking Wraps Up on Concho River in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX — Texas Parks and Wildlife completed its final catfish stocking of the year Friday on the Concho River in San Angelo, releasing 602 channel catfish, with some measuring up to 16 inches, according to the Inland Fisheries San Angelo District.

The stocking marks the end of TPWD’s Neighborhood Fishin’ catfish program for the season in San Angelo. The program places fish in urban waters to expand access to anglers across Texas.

TPWD said rainbow trout stockings will begin just before Thanksgiving.

Anglers may keep up to five fish per day. A fishing license is required for adults, while youths 17 and under do not need one.
