What’s Open and Closed on Thanksgiving in San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Many San Angelo stores, restaurants and city services will operate on limited schedules or close entirely on Thanksgiving Day. Here’s what residents can expect on Thursday.

Major retailers including Target, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Kohl’s and HomeGoods will be closed for the holiday.

Grocery store schedules vary. H-E-B will be open from 6 a.m. to noon, while Market Street, Sam’s Club and Food King will be closed.

Several local restaurants will remain open. Alejandro’s on Sherwood Way will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Denny’son West Avenue I, IHOP on College Hills Boulevard and multiple McDonald’s locations will be open 24 hours. Dun Bar East on Pulliam Street will serve a Thanksgiving meal beginning at 11 a.m. Other options include Golden Corral, Oriental Flame, Roxie’s Diner and Whataburger, though hours vary by location.

Cinemark and Icon Cinema will offer multiple showtimes throughout the day. Dollar General and Dollar Tree locations are generally open, although hours may differ. Uber, Lyft and food delivery services such as Uber Eats, DoorDash and Favor will operate as usual.

City offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. There will be no trash pickup Thursday, and landfill operations will be closed for the holiday. Trash services for Thursday and Friday will run one day late.

Fort Concho will be closed Thursday but will reopen Friday for self-guided tours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekend hours will follow the site’s regular schedule.

WIC offices will be closed from Wednesday, Nov. 26, through Friday, Nov. 28. Other closed city services include the animal shelter (except for emergencies), Municipal Court, Planning and Development Services, the Southside and Carl Ray Johnson recreation centers, and senior centers at Station 618 and Santa Fe Crossing. Water billing will also be closed. 

City offices will reopen Monday, Dec. 1.
