Cookie Donations Needed to Support Goodfellow Service Members This Season

SAN ANGELO, TX - Goodfellow Air Force Base and the San Angelo community are gearing up for the annual “Great Cookie Caper,” an effort to deliver thousands of homemade cookies to service members living in base dorms during the holiday season.

This year’s goal is 15,000 cookies for the roughly 3,000 service members stationed at Goodfellow. Volunteers coordinate the collection, packing and distribution as a way to provide holiday cheer to troops spending Christmas away from home.

San Angelo residents can drop off cookie donations at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center on Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Goodfellow personnel and others with base access may drop off their donations on Dec. 2 and 3 at the Powell Event Center from 7 a.m. to noon.

Base volunteers will pack the cookies into treat boxes on Dec. 2 and 3, and unit representatives will begin distributing them to service members on Dec. 4.
