SAN ANGELO, TX — The 7th Annual Mental Health Rally will take place at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, on the lawn of the Tom Green County Courthouse.
The event's purpose is to bring the community together to support individuals living with mental illness during the holiday season — a time that can be especially challenging for many.
Co-sponsored by NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) San Angelo and San Angelo Clubhouse, this event is designed to remind those struggling with mental health challenges that they are not alone. The rally aims to foster hope, community and understanding, showcasing resources and support available locally for individuals and families navigating mental health concerns.
The rally will feature speakers from both NAMI San Angelo and San Angelo Clubhouse, as well as individuals sharing personal stories of resilience and recovery.
Information about local mental health resources will be available, and attendees will have the opportunity to connect with others in a welcoming and supportive environment.
This year’s rally will also include a special moment to recognize outstanding contributions to the mental health community. The recipient of the Laura Lewis Community Champion for Mental Health Award will be announced and honored during the event. Named in memory of Laura Lewis, a passionate advocate for mental health, this award celebrates an individual or organization that has made a lasting impact in improving mental health awareness and support in the San Angelo community.

Remember when some San Angeloans thought the "Angry Cactus" sign resembled an enormous, raging phallus? 🌵
