SAN ANGELO, TX — Two late model Toyota RAV4s collided on Avenue N at S. Jackson St. Thursday night trapping one of the RAV4 drivers. Then the RAV4 suspected to be at fault drove off, causing San Angelo police to commence a citywide hunt for the hit-and-run RAV4 and its driver.
According to San Angelo police, one RAV4 was southbound on Jackson attempting to cross the Avenue N intersection. A second RAV4 was headed north on Jackson, before turning west on Avenue N. The turning RAV4 slammed into the driver’s side door of the southbound RAV4, trapping the southbound driver.
The turning RAV4 sped off westbound towards the H-E-B area, police said.
A fire department crew freed the victim driver and she emerged complaining of pain, however she refused transportation via ambulance to the hospital.
Police seek help locating the hit-and-run driver. According to police, witnesses described the vehicle as a late model red or maroon RAV4 with extensive damage to the front of the vehicle. The hit-and-run driver’s RAV4 left its front bumper with its license plate attached at the crash scene.
After leaving evidence like that, it won’t be long until that hit-and-run RAV4 driver is found.
