Bomb Squad and FBI Called in for Suspicious Package in Small West Texas Town

 

LEVELLAND, TX – The city hall of a small West Texas town was evacuated Friday afternoon after received a suspicious package.

According to the Hockley County News Press, on May 7, the Lubbock Bomb Squad was called in to handle a suspicious package at the Levelland City Hall.

Police Chief for the Levalland Police Department told the paper that staff at city hall received a package and it appeared suspicious when it was opened. The staff at city hall was evacuated immediately. 

It is unclear at this time if there actually is something explosive or toxic in the package. 

The bomb squad is investigating.
