SAN ANGELO, TX — An SUV rollover incident occurred near the site of the old SITEL building on the Loop 306 access road, leaving the vehicle on its side but its occupants, a driver and a child, unharmed.
The incident took place at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, when the 36-year-old driver of the SUV veered onto the shoulder by mistake and subsequently overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll over.
Both the driver and the young passenger were outside of the overturned SUV and able to walk around when first responders reached the scene. After an evaluation by San Angelo EMS, it was determined that neither required transportation to the hospital.
Authorities have cited the SUV's driver for failing to maintain control of the vehicle's speed. Despite the potentially grave situation, the fortunate escape of both occupants without injury is a relief to the community and serves as a cautionary reminder of the importance of driving vigilantly.
