Driver Flees Crash, Returns After Witness Tracks Them Down

SAN ANGELO, TX — A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Van Buren and Walnut Street is being investigated as a possible hit-and-run after one of the drivers briefly fled the scene.

According to preliminary information, the crash occurred when a vehicle traveling north on Van Buren turned onto Walnut and struck a blue Ford Bronco. The driver of the striking vehicle reportedly left the scene immediately following the crash.

A witness later located the suspect at an undisclosed location and persuaded them to return to the scene, an officer with the department's traffic division said.

The driver of the Ford Bronco sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital as a precaution. The investigation remains ongoing.
