Bynum Roxa Lee Jordan

SAN ANGELO Roxa Lee Jordan Bynum died in a local nursing home on May 8, 2014, she was 91. She was born May 7, 1923, in Kansas City, Missouri to parents Roy and Mable Jordan. She was married to Raynard Robert Bynum for 48 years. Robert died in 2002. Roxa spent much of her life in Missouri, California and Texas, working as a decorator. Roxa enjoyed her association with the San Angelo Art Club, serving four times as president. She was a volunteer at San Angelo Community Hospital and Meals on Wheels. Roxa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; and her younger sisters, Marjorie Bennett and Claire Edwards. She is survived by her son, Roy Alvin Bynum; niece Joan Sodowsky; nephews Lynn Curtis Edwards and Greg Bennett; also her very special church family; caregivers Virginia Maginness and Dora Terrazas; and many special friends that watched over her for so many years. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2014, at Cottonwood Cemetery in Cottonwood (Callahan County), Texas with Alvis Fisher of West Angelo Church of Christ officiating. Family and friends may sign the online register book at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com.
