Sweetwater Woman Sentenced to 45 years in Child Injury Case

SWEETWATER, TX — A Sweetwater woman was sentenced to 45 years in prison after a jury found her guilty of injury to a child, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Shyreell Hennessey was convicted Aug. 21, 2026, in a case that also involved her husband, David Quintanna. The investigation began in 2025 after authorities received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Hennessey will serve her sentence in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Nolan County District Attorney’s Office, Sweetwater Police Department, Nolan County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI for their work on the case.

“Their dedication has been instrumental in furthering our mission to protect our community’s children,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “The safety and well-being of children remains our highest priority.”

Officials urged residents to report suspicious activity to local law enforcement or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s tip line.

Sheriff Ricky Bishop’s office said it remains committed to working with local, state and federal partners to protect children in the community.
