SAN ANGELO, TX — Polls open Tuesday for the Nov. 4 election, where Tom Green County voters will weigh 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution and a local tax measure for Wall Independent School District.
Election Day voting runs 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at polling places across the county.
What’s on the ballot?
The statewide ballot includes proposals dealing with education funding, tax relief, judicial oversight, disaster exemptions, manufacturing exemptions, dementia research funding, and voting eligibility requirements.
Voters in the Wall ISD boundaries will also decide Proposition A, which asks residents to ratify an ad valorem tax rate of $0.7703 per $100 valuation, resulting in a 12% increase in maintenance-and-operations tax revenue for the district — roughly $848,421 more than the prior year.
According to Wall ISD, although the measure increases the district’s maintenance and operations rate, the overall tax rate for taxpayers is expected to decrease compared with last year, due to state funding formulas and other rate adjustments.
