Ortega Eric

Eric Ortega, 25 of San Angelo, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014. He loved to smile and had a big heart. He lived life to the fullest. He had many, many friends. His friends were his family. Eric worked hard to achieve his goals. Even though his life was cut short, his spirit lives on. He will be with his Dad in Heaven.
A celebration of Eric's life will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Perez of the Church of the Blessed in Lubbock, Texas officiating. 
Eric is preceded in death by his dad Juan Ortega, maternal grandma Eudelia Alvarado and paternal grandmother Elizabeth Ortega. He is survived by his mom Sandra Ortega and step-dad Lee Terrazas of San Angelo; brother Johnny Perez and wife Patricia of Lubbock, TX; nieces and nephew: Aime, Annahi and Isaac Perez; grandpa Jesse Alvarado; aunts, uncles and numerous cousins; and all of his friends from San Angelo and Lubbock.

Smith Marquita

Marquita La-Gean "Keeta" Smith, 81, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2014 in San Angelo. The Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 4, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of San Angelo with Rev. James Hassell officiating. The Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas. 

Marquita was born February 11, 1933 in Brownwood, Texas to Jesse Jewel and Mary Ila Faye (Reed) Smith. She grew up in the Brownwood area and graduated from Early High School. Marquita then attended Howard Payne College where she met the love of her life, Terry P. Smith. They were married September 20, 1952 in Brownwood, Texas and shared 61 wonderful years of marriage together and were blessed with six beautiful children. Marquita worked for many years for the City of Midland in the finance department and later for Mobil Oil Company. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who devoted her life to her family and raising her children in a Godly Christian home. Marquita loved cooking, sewing, crocheting, quilting, painting, making pottery but most of all spending time with her family. She also had a quick wit and a tremendous sense of humor that she freely shared with loved ones. Her great love for life and family will live on in our hearts forever! 

Marquita was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister Billie Morris. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Terry P. Smith, of San Angelo; her children, Deborah Stauffer and husband Christian, of Mount Airy, N.C., Curtis Mark Smith and wife Connie Dee, of Claremore, OK., Judy Davis, of Lubbock, TX., Ronnie Smith and wife Rachel, of Midland, TX., Jeannie Eads and husband Larry, of Odessa, TX. and Tim Smith and wife Sari, of Midland, TX; her 12 Grandchildren, April Grisham, John Mark Houdyshell, Marybeth Del Rio, Gretchelyn Hernandez, Ian Davis, Evan Davis, Dylan Davis, Katie Smith, Sara Smith, Kristen Covington, Jordan Eads and Hannah Smith; her 8 Great Grandchildren; and her sister, Linda Callaway and husband Jerry, of Brownwood, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Memorials Hospice. The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to the employees and staff of Sagecrest and Baptist Memorials for all of the loving care given to Marquita over the years.

Timm Tyree

Tyree Gale Timm (54) was taken tragically from this earthly life on Sunday, March 30, 2014. She was born March 28, 1960 to Vernon & Patty (Miller) Timm in San Angelo, Texas.

Family visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo. Memorial service is set for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home with Preacher Russ Frasier officiating. Burial will follow at Miles Cemetery in Miles, Texas.

Tyree graduated from Wall High School in 1978 and worked for San Angelo Radiology for over 15 years. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother Bernie Timm and wife Roxanne; nephews Josh Timm and wife Genie, and Scott Timm; niece Shelly Timm; step mother Lorna Timm; step sister Michelle Logback and husband Derek (children Hunter & Britton); special 'sisters' Bonnie Rutledge, Rose Bejil, and Jan Hanna; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as numerous friends who all loved her very much.

Although Tyree was paralyzed in an automobile accident at 18 months of age, she never considered herself to be 'handicapped'. She loved singing, playing the guitar, fishing, kayaking and girl trips with her special 'sisters'. She loved all of her friends and family unconditionally and wore a welcoming smile all of the time. Tyree had a love for all of her animals and could never refuse a stray. Because of this special love, memorials can be made to your favorite animal shelter.

Tyree will be missed very much and will live in our hearts forever!

Untermeyer Herbert

Herbert J. Untermeyer went to be with his Lord on Monday, March 31, 2014. He passed peacefully at his home in Christoval, with the company of his family.
Herbert was born December 22, 1929. He retired from the San Angelo Fire Department as Battalion Chief in 1982 after 26 years of faithful service. He grew up farming in the Wall area, and continued doing so until buying a tire business in Marble Falls, Texas. Herbert and Mae returned to the San Angelo area in 2004.
He was a hardworking, caring, dependable, provider for his family and will be dearly missed. His time here on earth will be forever cherished by the family and friends he leaves behind.
Herbert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mae Ann, his sons Jimmy, Barry, and Teddy, his 12 grandchildren, his 11 great-grandchildren, and his two daughters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his son, David, and by his brother, James Blakely.
Special thanks to Renee, Debbie, Crystal, Deborah, Carlos and all the caring staff at Hospice of San Angelo.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with David Gulley officiating.
